This village is at the elevation of 960 m. Because of its favourable climate conditions, Donovaly became the well- known resort of family recreation and a venue of many prestigious international sport events. The summer season is suitable for walks in Donovaly`s forests, through the surrounding meadows and to the peaks and ridges. For active people there is climbing wall, cableway or roller-coaster. And for those who enjoy cycling, there are a lot of well-kept biking trails. Donovaly is active during the summer. A lot of people visit Donovaly in the summer because there are a number of sport events held there, such as the `mountain duatlon`, the up-the-hill running `Donovaly - the Zvolen mountain`, the nonstop run along the ridge of the Low Tatras `Trango&scaron;ka-Donovaly`, the SNP(Slovak National Uprising) cross-country march from Telgárt to the &Scaron;pania dolina Valley etc. The winter season is attractive for experienced skiers as well for beginners, and snowboardists.
